| The website is the work of Karen Samuels, a resident of the Lehigh Valley. Karen is co-author of the book Images of America: Lower Saucon Township. She is past president of the Lower Saucon Township Historical Society. Under her guidance the restoration of the Lutz-Franklin Schoolhouse was completed in 2006. Karen is a strong supporter of the Lehigh Valley historical societies, big and small. She is currently enjoys membership in eight local historical societies.
This website provides a wide range of material on the history of the Lehigh Valley for genealogists, local historians and the curious. There are many interesting websites that cover specific aspects of Lehigh Valley history. The goal of this website is to bring all the pieces together in one site. The website includes materials from books, journals, essays and photographs. This is an ambitious project and will take some time to complete. The historical information will be organized by Lehigh and Northampton counties then by the cities, townships and boroughs with in each county. There are 38 cities, townships and boroughs in Northampton County and 25 in Lehigh County. Visitors are welcome to submit comments or questions through the website email address. |
